Your well-being matters.
There is nothing more heartbreaking than watching your child struggle. It is overwhelming to help your child cope with their big feelings in times of stress, while simultaneously managing your own responses. It can be frustrating and exhausting when you’ve tried everything, but you’re not getting the results you hoped to see. Many people say parenting is the hardest job you will ever have, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Therapy
Meeting with a trusted and empathetic therapist will provide an opportunity for your child to feel seen and heard. In a calm and encouraging environment, we will establish and work towards individualized goals. Your child will be guided through activities and reflection to build skills for managing challenges, so that they may develop resilience and experience more happiness.

The parents/guardians and I will meet for the initial intake session. This is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better. Ahead of meeting, you will have some paperwork to complete, which will help guide our conversation. We will discuss goals, answer any questions you have and create a treatment plan.

Determining how frequently to meet for therapy is highly dependent on the presenting issue(s). I will offer an initial recommendation, and we will continually assess if skills are transferring outside of the therapeutic setting. As progress is being made, frequency of sessions may be reduced before officially ending therapy.

You are an important part of your child’s progress in therapy. At the initial intake session, we will discuss what your role in sessions will look like. It may be beneficial for brief updates at the start or end of your child’s sessions, or we may decide it’s helpful to have separate meetings periodically.
